Quotes
Audrey: “Right! Besides, the forest near town is safe. All the scary animals like mink and badgers live deeper in; that’s what Mr. Percy says.”
Abigail: “Well, Percy has a hound and a gun, so I’m not concerned about him.”
– Audrey and Abigail about Percy in Chapter 1: There You Are
“Percy and Marshal volunteered, actually. They’re such compassionate toms… and not to mention attractive!”
– Maribelle about Percy watching Carlos in Chapter 3: Make Mine Melodies
“You haven’t at all considered it? I mean, seeing how everything is… I’m sorry Abigail, I truly am. And if there was something I could do to help you…”

Trivia
- He and Marshal were inspired by the children’s book characters, Frog and Toad.
- He was originally conceptualized as a fisherman designed with fish-like aspects, but because Willy takes on a fishing role in chapter 4, this trait was deemed redundant.
- Moreover, he and Marshal might have been cut from the story entirely despite their presence in more chapters early in development. Percy was retained partly for his interaction with Abigail.
- He is a first cousin once removed of Adrian Bagley, and both belong to a family who have long resided in Chamberfield.
