“But whatever the case, it’s a fun legend for us to cling on to. To have a ghastly guardian of our city…!

Foxmouth
Geographical information
Country: U.S.A.
State: Mew Hampshire
Biome: Coastal forest

Foxmouth is an old American city and the secondary location of The Lion’s Daughter. Its economy is marine-based, including shipbuilding and some manufacturing, though not to the extent of surrounding cities. Moreover, the city has fallen behind its competition, resulting in run-down infrastructure and an overall dreary atmosphere. Likewise, Foxmouth is widely rumored to be haunted. Its ghost stories have particularly been stirred by a creature called ‘the crying cougar’, which cats claim to hear screaming in the night, though cougars went extinct in the area decades prior.

Landmarks

City Center

  • The railroad station connects to three train lines going north, south, and west. Foxmouth is the easternmost station. The outer train-yard is used for industrial transportation while an inside station brings passengers into the city.
  • The library stands across from the train station where Homer Bailey works as a bookkeeper. It is built in a neoclassical style and the interior is decorated in a nautical theme.

Port
The harbors of Foxmouth overlook the Atlantic Ocean, forming a natural port. While shipbuilding and whaling has largely ceased, sailors continue to take out fishing boats into the ocean. A farmer’s market along the port sells artisan goods, food, and other raw materials.

Industrial
Northwest of the ports lies a sprawling manufacturing district of numerous factories that produce textiles and other clothing goods.

George Park

To the southeast of the city lies a wooded area with walking paths, a duck pond, and a small stream that deposits in the ocean. Lamps light the path at night and an old cobblestone bridge crosses the stream.
